Wine, wine, wine (and some wonderful food) - that's what this absolutely charming and cozy restaurant is all about. For six years now this gem, Friar's Folly, has worked its way into the heart and soul of all those who visit. It's lovely inside featuring the colors of grapes, vines and other wine-related décor. There's a small bar and a beautiful patio surrounded by unique shopping boutiques with a real grape vine covered arbor.
Open at 4 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday for happy hour wine tasting and tapas and, on Wednesdays, it's "Girls Gone Wine" time, when most bottles of wine are discounted by 50 percent. You can just enjoy some tapas (appetizer snacks) and wine, or enjoy a full, gourmet-caliber dinner from a terrific menu. The Wine Country Cuisine is prepared from scratch with the freshest ingredients around. The food is especially prepared to accompany the most recognized and approachable North County wine list that includes around 100 wines, with around 30+ wines served by the glass. Live entertainment is featured Wednesday - Saturday. In the winter, a live piano bar. Private parties and catering available.
