Sixteen Restaurants to Offer Special Three Course Menu From $10 to $30 per Person

SAN MARCOS, CA — (July 23, 2008) — Dining aficionados throughout San Diego and North County will have an unprecedented opportunity to experience nine nights of delectable dining at 16 restaurants, when Old California Restaurant Row holds its first-ever Restaurant Week from September 20 to September 28. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Old California Restaurant Row is North County's largest dining and entertainment experience with diverse restaurants and charming Village boutiques located directly adjacent to the Edwards Stadium 18 Cinema complex. Old California Restaurant Row is located at 1020 San Marcos Boulevard in San Marcos.
Participating restaurants in Old California Restaurant Week will offer a special three-course, prix fixe menu from $10 to $30 per person (including appetizer, entrée and dessert) — up to three options for each course. OLD CALIFORNIA RESTAURANT ROW SUPPORTS SAN MARCOS HIGH SCHOOLS

SAN MARCOS — May 16, 2008 — Old California Restaurant Row in San Marcos has announced its support for San Marcos high schools when it hosts the Pace Promise breakfasts on May 22 and 23 at the San Marcos Brewery and provides three $500 academic scholarships to students attending San Marcos High School, Mission Hills High School and Twin Oaks High School. Located at 1020 San Marcos Boulevard, Old California Restaurant Row is North County's largest dining and entertainment experience with 18 restaurants and charming Village boutiques located directly adjacent to the Edwards Stadium 18 Cinema complex.
Dean Jacobson, general manager of the San Marcos Brewery & Grill and head of Old California Restaurant Row’s scholarship efforts through the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, said that his restaurant will host “A Breakfast for Champions” on May 22 for students of Mission Hills High School and on May 23 for San Marcos High School students. The events will recognize students from both high schools who have achieved the academic requirements necessary to achieve automatic admission to California State University, San Marcos under the Partners Advancing College Education (PACE) Promise partnership between the San Marcos Unified School District and CSSM. The program guarantees automatic admission to the university for all qualified graduating seniors in the district who meet basic college prep requirements, starting with the class of 2009. It also helps students with financial need attend the university through scholarships.
In addition, Old California Restaurant Row will provide three $500 academic scholarships to students from San Marcos High School, Mission Hills High School and Twin Oaks High School. Jacobson said the scholarships were provided as part of the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce’s scholarship program to provide academic assistance to local high schools from the local business community. The scholarships were awarded during special school recognition events.
